Brent, the advertisers are just buying AOL's claim about the size of its membership. How many are online at one time? Remember when AOL has e-mail problems? It stated with a positive spin that the affected members are only in the low tens thousands? When the revenues of the advertisers are not as they expected and yet they have to fork millions of dollars for renting the real estate, advertisers are fleeing in droves. Just look at the sequential ad-revenues which are down from Q4/1997.

In the news release did AOL ever compare Q1/98 to the Q4/97? NEVER. It keeps comparing to Q1/1997.

Good Luck.
