Hi Macavity, I've looked at some of the very longer term USD charts versus other currencies. The USD would need to move much much higher to approach those old 1985 highs.

I agree with your analysis, the USD's longer term uptrend is intact. We probably will see the Euro go and make a new low as the 4 year cycle is suggesting.

those curve flattening trades I've been talking about here the past 2 weeks seem to be occurring.

12:47 ET 10-year: +8/32..4.951%....GNMAs: +3/32....$-¥: 132.32

A trader telling us that the flattening trade is the "trade of the day." And to this end, the slope of the curve is reflective of this thought. 2/30 spread is at 234 bp versus 241 bp late yesterday. 10s better by 4 bp and bonds better by 6 bp, while 2s are in the red
