Why wouldn't Sun just buy AMD and seek to further undermine Intel's margins? I could see AOL one day wanting to produce its own PCs and supporting a buyout by Sun of AMD. On a different note, maybe AMD's rise on Friday is linked to new flash orders from cell phone manufacturers based on greater cell phone demand in the US.
