Rafique, First and foremost, I would NEVER put money into options that I would need in the immediate future such as for tuition or a new car. I'd hate to see anyone lose money any not be able to pay for schooling. I you had purchased Microsoft options after the stock was up +5 on tuesday, you would have lost money with the $$$ loss on Wednesday. Options are generally for suckers. If you want to follow some good advice from another person on this board, follow Valley Girl's posts. You can learn a lot from her posts on options and stocks. Send her a note about your situation and she will probably tell you them same thing that I'm trying to tell you. Just buy stock in great companies like Microsoft and Intel and you will probably do fine in the long haul. I can't predict where they will be in the short term and that is way options are a losing strategy. Most options expire worthless! Start with paying off all consumer debt like credit cards. Why risk trying to gain 18% in the stock market when you can reduce those 18% rate credit cards guaranteed! Let me know if I can be of any further help! Keep on learning! Jeff in Little Rock
