I agree the logistics would be a nightmare but I just have a naive thought of seeing thousands of people giving a small amount for a charity and having the final amount be huge. You are right though, it probably wouldn't work. No one wants anyone to know who they are so it would have to be cash etc....where to mail etc......
the thought of having a fundraiser each year on SI for a different charity though I think would be great. we'll see.
