This is the top aides we are talking about. This is the Halderman & Erlichman of the Bush campaign. His only defense is cluelessness. Remember, Bush is the guy who doesn't claim to be so smart, but claims he knows how to pick good people to advise him. What kind of people did he pick? His only hope now is to try and forget that the incident ever happened and hope the press does too.
