Network Appliance Announces Texas Instruments has Selected NetApp Network Storage Solutions for Its Research and Development Design Center in Bangalore, India

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 11, 2000--Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP), the leading provider of network-attached data access and content management solutions, today announced that Texas Instruments has selected NetApp(R) F840 systems for its network storage requirements in Bangalore, India. The deployment includes both NetApp F840 and F840c clustered systems, and will be used to manage the data and information storage requirements of Texas Instruments India Research and Development design center.

With this new deployment, Texas Instruments will have implemented Network Appliance(TM) solutions in 12 countries, handling a variety of global business and mission critical applications; including traditional file service, NT/UNIX data sharing and home directory data management. Texas Instruments India selected Network Appliance F840 series filers because they significantly improved performance and backup flexibility for its enterprise-class storage system.

Network Appliance allows TI India to deliver terabytes of semiconductor design and development data to its high performance computing center including global data sharing for design and development collaboration.
