No question about it, the vast majority of users are content with getting the best price on a system that meets their needs, and in todays market that is probably a Pentium 200 MMX setup out the door for about $1000, that has certainly been the sweet spot for corporate sales in the last few months. If you track sales of the 'high end' boxes versus the 'mature technology' (12 to 18 months old) the high end stuff is rarely more than 10 to 15 percent of the market. This has been true for at least 5 years now. 10 years ago there was even more disparity, with significant sales of machines based on 2 and 3 year old technology. look how long it took for 386 machines to get to significant numbers.
