<A dip in gold will help our stocks before long, because we all know a retrace is coming, and only when it comes does it get quantified, after some bottoming action it's a known thing, no longer looming nebulously huge>

I agree. But for a lot of stocks they may not fall as much with a pullback in gold as they did not get the usual boost with the most recent gold rise. I took a short term subscription to Hamilton and he was saying the last rise in gold provided about a 1/3 the usual rise in gold stocks.

<but good results will be rewarded, might be the only game in town for a little while>

Yes the drill bit plays may be the only game in town but I am still playing the value game with some drill bit upside.

Two names USA a turnaround if they can rehab the Couer and Galena mines and produce at a profit may do well with little drill success. But they continue to drill and log core so they may have some drill bit surprise along with a rumored large increase in their resource.
The drill could play apart though as last year USA hit som big numbers though narrow in width by drilling:

<U.S. Silver drills 5.6 feet of 14.25 opt Ag at Galena

Mr. Bruce Reid reports

U.S. SILVER CORPORATION REPORTS 5.6 FEET GRADING 14.25 OPT SILVER AND 21.2% LEAD FROM GALENA MINE EXPLORATION>

<U.S. Silver drills 19.8 ft of 63.9 opt Ag at Galena

Mr. Bruce Reid reports

U.S. SILVER CORPORATION DRILLS 19.8 FEET GRADING 63.90 OPT SILVER, 3.41% COPPER ON THE 3400 LEVEL OF THE GALENA MINE>

WGW has started a large drill campaign:

<Exploration drilling of the Brownie Hill deposit is scheduled to begin in the last week of January. During 2008, approximately $1.0 million will be spent on additional definition and exploratory drilling. The drilling will be focused on the follow up of mineralization found outside the current reserve area at Brownie Hill, where approximately 200,000 ounces of gold were added into reserves in 2007.>

Maybe at some point there will be a feeder zone found.

<Western Goldfields drills 30 feet of 0.562 opt on Vista
2007-09-06 18:06 ET - News Release
Mr. Raymond Threlkeld reports
WESTERN GOLDFIELDS COMPLETES INITIAL EXPLORATION PROGRAM AT MESQUITE MINE>>>>>>

Not a bad hole here for heap leach:
<WM-124 which intersected 120 feet of oxide mineralization averaging 0.026 ounce of gold per ton and 560 feet of non-oxide mineralization averaging 0.020 ounce of gold per ton.>

I will take the turnaround and the re-rating play myself.
