Low stock price on Novell and takeovers

I also thought at one time that the low stock price meant an insider takeover (see much earlier posts on this thread and taking the company private) but to me that meant Noorda and Ashton.

Now Ashton is gone and that seems a slim possibility. The price would have to be half what it is.

Unfortunately the low price is not a sick joke but the reality of the poor management we have for our company. Whether this is due to a conservative and schlerotic Board, or, the corporate culture of the current management, its a fact.

However I am getting more optimistic about what is happening. See Costa's post which has gone uncommented today and is the most significant one of the day. Novell is working on a 3.X product migration strategy. A version of the NOS for the low end of the market.

If they do this then I will try to take my current number of shares,
around 10K, up to 20K. If they do it and do it successfully, then we will have another positive for the stock long term.

The company also becomes much more valuable to the potential takeovers. Before the Street gets the picture companies that might takeover Novel are going to recognize what all of us have for months.

Concerning MSFT, Gates will only buy DEC when he has to, after all he has a willing slave as it is. Hey all you EEs, just think you could be designing state of the art 64bit CPUs to run Gates 32 bit OS too!
