Any corporate bond offering 14% nowadays might be a cause for skepticism. It would take something dramatic to make deepwater economically viable in the foreseeable future:

They are in the same "boat" as shale. Anyway, we seem to be in a mature secular bear in commodities which classically reverses with a stampede from financial assets. So until we see some serious bear action in equities I would assume they will be contending with a sub-60 market. It just doesn't make sense to me why buy the stock that requires the highest oil prices to recover.
