DC & Don:

I just got ADSL put in last week. Although I may not yet have a full accounting of charges, I will pay $50/mo and I think $250 for installation. This is for the 384KBPS line.

I sent an email to my telephone co and asked to be notified when ADSL became available. After I called in, there was a two week wait until I could get a technician to come in.

I REALLY wonder whether cable modems or CLEC service through cable modem (as Armstrong is planning with ATT/TCI/Warner) is such a good idea. If my phone and internet service went to the QoS of my cable service, then we are all in trouble.

I remember a survey a couple years ago where they asked everyone who is their worst utility and something like 55% said their cable provider. I finally got DIRECTV so I could heave-ho.
