GENE filed for a secondary Offering... Celera Genomics Scheduled at 4th Beltway Biotech Forum Saturday
====================================================================== WASHINGTON DC--(BW Healthwire)--Jan. 21, 2000--Celera Genomics (NYSE:CRA) plans to join the lineup tomorrow at the 4th Beltway Biotech Forum in Bethesda, MD. The Celera Genomics Group, headquartered in Rockville, Md., intends to become the definitive source of genomic and related medical information. The company announced January 10th that efforts to map the entire human genome were 90%, likely encompassed 97% of human genes and should be completed and should be finished this year. Parent company PE Corp. also announced today a two-for-one stock split The split will be effected in the form of a 100 percent stock dividend payable to stockholders of record as of the close of business on February 4, 2000. The distribution date of the stock dividend is February 18, 2000. Gene Logic (NASDAQ:GLGC), also of Rockville, MD was scheduled to present, but announced late last week that it has filed with the SEC to offer 3.5 million shares to the public and would be unable to present. Under SEC rules, companies must assume a "quiet period" for a period of time before and after a public offering. This affects all scheduled appearances before investors.
