From the little anecdotal evidence that I have, the healthy people are very happy with socialized medicine. Surprise, surprise. But god forbid you get sick.

And if I have something wrong with me, I don't want to wait for some social engineer to determine what the most cost effective schedule of treatment is. I had Kaiser coverage a few years ago when I had bilateral inguinal hernias. Now, this wasn't a debilitating condition, but it was bad enough that I couldn't lift anything heavy and certainly couldn't participate in most sports activities. Kaiser gave me my exam and said they would call to schedule my surgery. Six months later I called to see WTF?....Their response "still waiting to be scheduled"...

I left the job that gave me the kaiser coverage about six months after that. And then a full two years after my initial exam and a full one year after I had ceased being covered by kaiser, I got the call to tell me that my surgery was scheduled six months from the call date. I informed them that I had a new job, new insurance and already had my surgery six months earlier....click.

That's what I expect out of nationalized healthcare.
