many, many people are really aware of the bias the major media shows constantly, so the people have resorted to other ways to get their information.

Resorting to blogs seems a strange way to avoid bias. People don't go to blogs to avoid bias, they go because they want to find commentary (blogs generally don't do news) with a bias that matches their own. A good way to avoid thinking, or challenging one's preconceived notions.

Personally, I'd rather see views that differ from my own (that's why I come here) but the self-important chest-thumping and general domination of the ego that prevails in blog-land doesn't appeal to me. There is a good deal more diversity in the major media than extremists of left or right care to admit, and if you filter carefully you can get a good range of quality material. There's certainly a lot of trash out there (among blogs as well as among major media outlets), but nobody's making you read it.
