9-11 happened on Bush's watch after he ignored the 8-6 warnings and disbanded CLinton's counter-terrorist opeations. That's a fact. After 9-11, Clinton was smeared by the rightwing for being "soft on terrorism" including the totally fabricated story that Clinton was offered Osama and turned him down. Indeed, once Clinton Id'ed Osama as the main perp he tried 150 times to kill him. 150 cruise missiles aimed where the latest intel and satcom photos thought OBL was hiding. In some cases they narrowly missed him. But they took out a lot of Al Qaida camps and minions. When Clinton left office he warned Bush that AL Qaida was the #1 threast, but neither Bush nor any of his top people even mentioned the words "terrorism" or "AL Qaida" in any of their security speeches. Not a single word. Not a single finger lifted. In fact there is eviudence Bush called off all surveillance of Saudi nationals in the US, including the 9-11 hijackers. So yoiu tell me if CLinton is "nutty" saying "at least I tried". And remember, the rightwingers mocked and ridiculed Clinton at the time for trying to kill Bin LAden. That is all on the record.
