How much do you think is nvls specific. There was some talk last month that amat was doing better. Any opinions on that or do we go back to 35

IMHO, NVLS's problems aren't company specific. In fact, people have been saying NVLS's strength in copper means they are less subject to a downturn. Given the massive overcapacity at chipmakers, the fact that demand won't ever come back to the internet bubble days, and the fact that PC's are now a commodity, at 35 AMAT is overvalued. Except for temporary giddy runs generated by liquidity and Wall Street, it doesn't have much upside at 30.
