wasn't there some rumors about Apple using bittorrent a while back? Yes but they focused more on software distribution (updates etc.) and I'm not sure how that would/could work with DRM. Also, while that would help with Apple's bandwidth bill, it wouldn't solve the time to download problem as I've never downloaded anything from Apple's site(s) which didn't max out my broadband connection (i.e. they send it at least as fast as I can receive it.)
