Tuesday August 15, 6:00 am Eastern Time Press Release SOURCE: Global TeleMedia International BentleyTel.com Successful VoIP/VPN and ITSP National Network Launch at The ISPCON in Melbourne, Australia Global Telemedia International Announced That It Had Successfully Launched Its National VoIP/VPN/ITSP Network With the Connection of Darwin, Sydney, And Melbourne, With All Cities Connected by October 1 NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Global TeleMedia International (OTC Bulletin Board: GTMI - news; www.GTMI.com) announced today that it had successfully launched the first VoIP/VPN/ITSP National Network in Australia today. The launch was preceded by an introductory speech by Ericsson Director, David Arkles who proudly stated that this was the first ever Ericsson-Tigris/IPT VoIP/ITSP National Network. Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERICY - news) and BentleyTel (formerly Octa4) technicians have worked for almost 2 years to develop and test the Tigris/IPT platform and to ensure that the VoIP system was enabled in Darwin, Sydney and Melbourne in time for the ISPCON.
ISPCON is the world's largest networking conference and exhibition of and for the Internet Service Provider industry and its suppliers. It is held annually in Britain, USA, Canada and from 1999 in Australia.
GTMI President Jonathon Bentley-Stevens, Executive Vice President Regina Peralta and Vice President of Business Development David Bentley flew to Melbourne to attend the Launch and meet with other industry leaders and discuss strategy for national and international marketing and product roll out.
Mr. Bentley-Stevens said, ``I was surprised at the volume of Voice traffic in Australia, we had grossly understated the numbers. At the ISPCON 1999 it was stated that studies conducted had estimated 14 billion minutes between Capital cites with 75% of this occurring between Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, and this does not include data traffic. With long distance calls costing as much as 27-31 cents per minute during peak business hours, BentleyTel can offer savings of up to 20-50%. If we initially set a target to achieve only 1%, or 140 million minutes it could return revenue of $28 million for VoIP traffic alone not including ISP pre-paid monthly charges and other enhanced services.
``With the launch of our affiliate program existing ISP's can join for a nominal $1,000 per year. ISP's that sign up for the BentleyTel's ITSP solution will be able to brand the product with their own company logo/brand identity and sell the product to end users wanting an alternative to current traditional telephone or internet telephony services. Products will include low cost pre-paid ''phone to phone`` or ''PC to Phone`` calls as well as the Phonedoubler(TM) Solution which enables customers, with only one line to make and receive calls while on-line.
``We are about to embark on an aggressive marketing campaign and open offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and have already recruited some industry professionals such as Shane Fox former executive of Ozemail and Access One.''
The technical presentation by BentleyTel.com Australia's Managing Director Felino Molina was delivered to a full house, and included a live demonstration of actual calling via PC to Phone and also utilizing the Phonedoubler(TM) Solution. This enables customers who are on line and contemplating an e-commerce transaction and who need some help, to call the web site help line and discuss the transaction thus ensuring the satisfactory completion of the sale.
The industry reports that up to 80% of e-commerce transactions are aborted due to uncertainty of giving credit card details over the Internet or uncertainty about the transaction.
The Phonedoubler(TM) Solution can help the purchaser to ask some questions or receive ``live'' assistance to resolve any issues while on line and complete the transaction. BentleyTel is engaged in negotiations to not only deliver VoIP, VPN and ITSP solutions but partner with USA based companies who have similar networks to enable BentleyTel to terminate calls into the USA and allow transpacific VoIP and VPN for Multi-national corporations.
GTMI management expect a substantial gain in revenue in the second half of the year. Revenues for second quarter showed strong seasonally adjusted growth considering that first quarter figures included Christmas holiday call traffic, Chinese new year and communications from holiday travelers. GTMI has completed its second quarter 10QSB and has filed a 5 day extension to allow for the auditors review as mandated by the new SEC rules. SEC filing of the 10QSB is anticipated within 5 days.
