According to an evaluation of data from the U.S. Department of
Treasury, the cost of goods and services remained relatively
consistent between 1635 and 1913, around a level of roughly 25
times the buying power of the U.S. dollar in 2006

Nice record - stable prices for 300 years. Don't include the
last 95.

Hey, what happened in 1913? I think we should really
start pushing to undo whatever happened then. <NG>

A prediction: If the Fed blows up the USD, the United States
will abolish the Fed and will be the first country in the
World to go back on gold standard.
