I fully understand what you and jallen are saying.

But if you don't fight this tendency toward the Left, you are going to end up with a Court that is extreme and not meeting the needs of the country. As Jallen says, "Elections have consequences", and the consequence of electing an extremist is that we're a heartbeat away from an extreme Supreme Court which, IMO, the country can ill-afford.

Suppose one of The Five died tomorrow? In an instant, the Court would be positioned to move toward the radical Left. Because the Rs are unwilling to play the game in the same way today that the Ds are.

If you're going to have one "side" playing politics on a consistent basis, you either retaliate with politics or they're going to get what they're after, which is not good for the country.
