Brian or anyone,

when PCs were >$2000 average, a $100 upgrade is nothing. Now with all the sub$1000 and talks of sub$500 PCs, the cost of this upgrade is a huge percentage. A full non upgrade version is how much, $200? This is more than what you can get for an old pentium 90 or 120. The bulk licenses that MSFT extracts from DELL, CPQ, etc are, as I understand, is around $50. This is like 5-10% of the gross sales price. Should that piece of software be worth more than most components within the box? How come these boxmakers are not screaming bloody murder, when every component price is dropping like a rock and MSFT is keeping their prices sky high?
