Box makers are screaming - just not in public. As ASPs fall, they will put tremendous pressure on MSFT to restructure license terms. My suspicion is that MSFT will respond by creating more license categories, reducing costs at the low end while increasing at the high end. This was the strategy behind NTSE, which is almost 3 times the cost of NTS for only marginal increase in function, but it runs on more expensive hardware so the cost is a more reasonable percentage of the total. If MSFT keeps the mix under control they will be able to meet the market need while maintaining margins.
