Why should the gov't treat them with kid gloves? Who said they should be treated with kid gloves? The way they should be treated by the government is in accordance with the law, not outside of it in order to be either extra tough, or extra soft on them. The law isn't sufficient......clearly, it was put in place by people who favored the oil compainies. Its amazing to me.......you will screw your country and its people to uphold the 'honor' of corps. Beyond the actual treatment, the comment was inappropriate. Government has a lot of force, and the application of that force needs to be limited. Casual talk of grinding boot heels in to throats is unreasonable at best. Depends on your POV. If you are a LA fisherman, you may have a different perspective. You seem to do better empathizing with corps. than you do with real people. its just that they have failed nearly every step of the way. So either, the task is very hard, or their incompetent, or both. How does threats of stomping on their throats help the situation? It doesn't....its an expression of human frustration. You know, Tim, thats what we are.......human.
