'Burn rate' is an "outside word". We perpetual motion pollyannas don't want to hear the hated outside word 'burn rate'.

You have to remain inside. Gold is god. Silver is her handmaiden. Copper is messenger of the gods. Platinum and her cousins are the faeries of the halls of Oympus. What we have to spend to adorn ourselves with the tears of the sun and the moon is of no consequence to the dreamers of the true spirit of discovery. Rock on through the gates of hell until the dawn. We must strive with our last ounce of courage and energy to keep the faith with our ancient prospectors, who with far less knowledge and technology but far more wisdom too far greater chances to unearth the fabulous riches of mother earth. And their traces have vanished, giving a resounding lie to the opinion that mining the bowels of the earth leaves a lasting scar, or lastingly devastates the precious earth. So many mines are lost in the mists of tyme, we cannot fathom. It all returns and is swallowed up. To invoke the secrets of the olde and return again to the places of antiquity once so industriously harvested requires almost a psychopathological seance. And we know we aren't doing that again any time soon.

Galvin enjoyed spending his wealth and royally scolded an employees who tried to economize. "Don't show your ignorance by using that cheap outside word. We don't use it here, You must learn the ways of Alaska. That word is not understood in the North. If you have money, spend it. That is the way we do business." As a result he spent or gave away all his cash and headed up the Yukon without a cent for cordwood.

Chopper is 3000 a day. 4 man crew is 1000 a day. Rental of instruments is about 300 a day. Camp support is about 300 a day. So let's say 150K a month.

Cheap.
