Consummation of the acquisition of IDB is apparently proceeding more slowly than planned, leading some to complain about missed deadlines. It also seems to be generally agreed that the currencies in any acquisition would be a combination of cash and stock. Perhaps someone with more experience in M & A can answer this query: could the delay be primarily caused by the recent extreme volatility in the share price? I for one cannot figure how two parties could come to an agreement if the value of the basic trading unit varies by +/- 50% (or more).
