I am not a loyalist to any computer or software company. Living and working in Silicon Valley I use whatever is effective and affordable. However, I sometimes do think about getting OS/2 for the heck of it. Why? Because of the good things that I have always read about it not because I thought it was better than another. Been messing with these things for too long so I am jaded. If I can do my job and it's less expensive then that's what I want. For me, Apple was always too expensive in comparison to IBM clones. I build my own computers (for personal use) to reduce costs so I could not opt for Apple. I also have aided quite a few people in computer purchases and couldn't justify the higher premium. The strategy that I would employ regarding Rhapsody would be to concentrate on the product rather than this silly "we're better than Windows" style that hasn't worked yet. Pepsi has tried it with Coke, Burger King with McDonald's as an example and it hasn't worked. These examples gained market share because they expanded market distribution. Market share is gained by saturation and convincing the customer that it's worth the investment regardless of what product line we are discussing. People buy according to price versus value/quality. How many commercials or ad campaigns have you ever seen in the history of Microsoft where they made a concerted effort to attack their competition?
