Having bought MSFT in 1989, Position Play, I started day & swingtrading msft in 1996 with a second buy in. Some short term traders only play 1 stock, that's all they need to play to make money, and they are experts on that single stock.
<2001 performance> +30%, wrong. +28.1% based on todays close. The fact is MSFT has not made any money for Position Players for about 2 years. It's just been going down or at best dead money. Had you bought Jan 1st you would be ahead 12 points, but that does'nt help the bag holders on this thread. I've made many times more than 12 points swing trading msft since Jan 1, 2001.
<guessing to begin with> Post 56888 yesterday called market downturn realtime. Notice <nICK> & <dabb>. Those are nicknames of realtime traders posting the ARBA news. If you check the time of that post against a daily nasdaq chart, you will notice it began down ticking at that time. The majority of 1500 members in chat room in a consensus agreed it was time for a market turn, no one person could make a call that good and be right as often, we're talking right 90% of the time & my back post will confirm that number. I "cut & pasted" that market downturn news from a chatroom, so how could that be my guess. Frog
