KDDI's cdmaOne Service to Cover Canada

Tokyo, Dec. 21 (Jiji Press)--Telecommunications carrier DDI Corp. <9433>, better known as KDDI, said Thursday it will newly expand its cdmaOne cellular phone service to cover Canada from Jan. 19.
KDDI and its mobile phone unit au Corp. will offer the new service under an international roaming arrangement with Telus Mobility of Alberta, Canada.

Users of the service will need cellphones compatible with the arrangement, company officials said.

It will cost 330 yen per minute for a call from Canada to Japan.
