Finally. Someone explained the difference between slow archival devices vs faster removable storage. I don't post to this certain person nor do I respond to his. I have 2 friends that have cd-r drives and we use the barter system. I give them extra media since its so cheap and they make me copies of what I want. Like I tell them, I don't have to own a CD-R, just have to know someone who does :-). BTW, if I'm not mistaken CD-RW can't be read in DVD's. So the CD media will be around awhile but the DVD will evolve to be re-writable. Thats after the same progression the CD had, 2x/4x/..32x.
We are now at DVD2. Of course as most people don't realize that software isn't written to utilize the full capabilities of 32x. I think most games are written to utilize up to like 20x, but I'm not positive of this.

BTW, those friends with CD-R's tend to moan if I asks for several CD's to be copied due to the speed, Thats why I have to bribe them.
