The 'so what' was covered in the original post in which I attempted to point out to you that simply throwing out the term liberal does no justice to all the venues under which people might be labeled as a liberal.

Your clown puppet blue club here is treated as if it is a definitive term, which applies solely to LW political positions and so it might be as used here, where there is a lw politically correct position on every topic. When it is used on this thread it is used to describe political positioning somewhere from center along the continuum to far left which is represented by socialism.

It is a corrupted use of the term that does not account for the literal application which is as I defined it:

"Being liberal in the real sense implies a personal quest for meaning, purpose, and virtue which distrusts outward conformity or displays of loyalty to the establishment. It often has meant one had to confront and resist authority and the institution of power. In a visible sense liberals are commonly identified as rebellious and subversive wrt dogma and the ruling authority."

From my short list, you extracted Stalin and Pol Pot who you claim don't fit with your understanding of "liberal." They, however, fit more with the political definition you adhere to than any of the others. Mandella is closer to being a centrist with liberal ideas about race relations. Mugabe is a follower of Maoism and is most known for liberating the majority Black population from minority white rulership. Health, Education, and the economy has suffered under Mugabe and it bears noting that he is not 'a liberal' when it comes to homosexuality, so he hardly gets to stay on a list that would fit the thread LW agenda. Ghandi denied being a politician on any level and opted in stead to describe himself as a spiritual leader.

The only remaining candidates are Stalin and Pol Pot but you deny them and we all know why. That's 'So What'.
