I would love to see the feds dismantle much of the ineffective war on drugs, for lots of reasons. But like my other pet causes, I don't know that a direct campaign for legislative change would work. Your question about legal grounds is interesting. Why is alcohol left to the states to regulate even though it crosses state lines in national distribution networks? As I recall, Washington had to use federal highway money as the stick to beat the states into a drinking age of 21. Anyone know why alcohol gets one treatment and marijuana another? That would be the avenue I would look into more on the legal side.
