As I understand it, a few years back a major quake(8+) occurred directly below a nuclear facility in India. The plant shut down exactly as designed and subsequently started up again without a hitch. Nevertheless, if you can avoid a fault it would certainly make sense to do so. No matter the level of safety and its history I would not want to risk construction on a fault. The science on quake construction is still in its infancy. Its best not to take chance.s
