Hawk, it is not the question of giving this Administration credit. It is about this Administration deserving credit before it desires it.

You and many others in the US can continue to believe and also serve as a mouthpiece for the Administration's propaganda about strategic interests, Iraqi oil etc. etc. But when all is said and done, it will boil down to one thing; the economy. The challenge for the Bush team is to fight the war on terrorism and to also ensure the prosperity of the American people. If people keep loosing jobs as well as if American soldiers keep dying at the average rate of one a day inspite of the death of Saddam brothers, that is another discredit for Bush. Do you really believe that the Iraqi people will take American occupation lying down? In fact if they capture or kill Saddam, then the American troops have no reason to hang around. The Iraqis will view this as American occupation. They will expect the Americans to pull out very soon after Saddam's death. The "imminent" danger of WMD that Bush and Blair talked about and said was the reason to time the war as such is proving to be a hoax. If it was so imminent then why were these weapons not fired, why is it taking the US so long etc. etc.. Or are we again going to have Bush say that the intelligence is to blame!!! And now if they find any WMD, it will come across as a plant by the US.

I guess we only have to wait and let the circus play itself out. It will be Tony Blair first in the UK. And then the American people will stand by their British friends and possibly deal Bush the same way. Time alone will tell.
