<<''It's totally crazy to stock up on food and guns and to withdraw large amounts of cash,'' said Lou Marcoccio, Y2K research director at the Gartner Group. ''Our infrastructure is not going to fall apart.''>>

Read an interesting article a coupla' days ago where a disaster psychology expert (sorry, I don't have a link; inundated w/Y2k stuff) whose name I recognized was discussing how, as we get farther into this, the more govt and private entities proclaim that there is no need to panic, to take money out of banks, to stockpile a years worth of food, etc., the more people start to think I better do that; I don't want to be the last one in line. It's a trust factor and the level of trust will diminish as we approach 2000.

Hope it doesn't happen that way but it made sense to me, from a human nature standpoint.

Switching gears, to anyone, I still haven't received an answer to this previous post:

It tends to make me question the basis of the assertion when I am unable to back it up with more than statements that "cars won't work".

TIA.
