Hi Kent, You wrote," follow other men's beliefs?" . Not me! Man's knowledge is foolishness in God's sight. If you would reread my posts, you will see I quote The Holy Scripture as my reference. The unpolluted Word of God is all I will ever use as my foundation.
Here is what God says about the wisdom of men, "1 Cor 1:19 For it is written, "I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, AND THE CLEVERNESS OF THE CLEVER I WILL SET ASIDE." 1 Cor 1:20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 1 Cor 1:21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 1 Cor 1:22 For indeed Jews ask for signs, and Greeks search for wisdom; 1 Cor 1:23 but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block, and to Gentiles foolishness, 1 Cor 1:24 but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1 Cor 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men."
If man's wisdom could be as great as God's, then men would be boasting to God. God is the source of all wisdom. If we have any at all it came from Him. Our knowledge is a mere grain of sand on a long sea shore compared to God's. I like the following: "1 Cor 1:27 but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, 1 Cor 1:28 and the base things of the world and the despised, God has chosen, the things that are not, that He might nullify the things that are, 1 Cor 1:29 that no man should boast before God. 1 Cor 1:30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, 1 Cor 1:31 that, just as it is written, "LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD." 1 Cor 2:1 And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. 1 Cor 2:2 For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 1 Cor 2:3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling. 1 Cor 2:4 And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 1 Cor 2:5 that your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God."
The knowledge that we have as an individual is temporary. When the flesh dies, it dies. But the knowledge of God is from everlasting to everlasting. Unseen, but permanent. Just like our Heavenly Father and the inheritance He has promised us. "1 Cor 2:9 but just as it is written, "THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM." Also, "2 Cor 4:18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
Well, enough a'ready
May God lead you into His Wisdom, Who is Jesus Christ , the manifestation of pure wisdom and truth. "Seek and you shall find."
