Also makes it a big fat pig. Why do I need 3D GL on my file server? I'd rather have complete server mirroring (SFT III), a global directory (NDS), excellent performance and plenty of third-party products to choose from.

If I were a small shop that only needed a little bit of a server, then NT would work okay I suppose. For real networks though, you just can't beat NetWare.

The horizontal-value proposition you are backing is the same as what you get when you buy a minivan. Although you can do a lot of a little with it, you can't do a lot of anything in particular. Vertical-value solutions are preferred by people who need to solve specific problems. For a small family, a minivan makes a good choice. But for United Van Lines, 18-wheelers work much better. For a small family, the minivan works okay for the occasional camping trip, but for real outdoorsmen, nothing beats a 4WD Jeep.

Did you short Porsche when GM came out with the minivan? Why not? Why are you acting so differently about this, the exact same thing?

Oh. Well, that certainly explains it.
