tgptndr, Thanks. I think the Power 4 shows the promise of SOI. Dual 1 Ghz+ cores with a 1.4 MB cache at only 114 W in 0.18u is quite an achievement. That AMD has been working with IBM on SOI is very encouraging. Don't think that Claw will be dual core, but that should be cleared up at the MPF. On the stock side of things, I forgot to tell you all about the stock I had picked out during the market shutdown. It was Raytheon (RTN). They make the guidance electronics for most laser guided bombs and cruise missiles. In fact, when the market opened, RTN was the number one gaining stock on the NYSE. It had been at $25 before the attacks, and it opened at $35. I waited about an hour and a half and got it at $30. I sold it yesterday at $35.50 and look to buy it back today. I also got lucky and dumped all the AMD and SUNW that I had recently picked up for about $8 for $9.30 yesterday -- just before both companies warned. I'm 50% cash right now and plan on only buying RTN before the end of Oct. Pravin. PS: About being AWOL -- I was going to Italy and France for a couple of months when the terrorist attacks happened. I was scheduled to leave on the 13th. Obviously, all my flights were canceled. After a few days of waiting for flights to resume, I decided that I wanted to be in the news loop when the shit hit the fan; and not stranded in Sardinia. So, I canceled my trip. But, I had moved out of my apartment and had put everything in storage, so now I'm staying with various friends and relatives while I decide where to get another place. As I can live anywhere, I am thinking about the Nevada side of Tahoe for about a year. No State income tax, and great outdoor activities.
