Gottfried,

I never fully appreciated before, by looking at your chart, how closely semiconductor shipments correlate with semi-equip bookings. They appear to be very closely related over the full time period from Jan 95 until the present. Another one of your charts that shows it even clearer I believe is:

home.attbi.com

The high correlation implies that if semiconductor shipments continue to hold steady, or rise in the future, the semi-equip bookings will do the same. I haven't tried to find out what the present day predictions are for semiconductor shipments are for over the next few months, but if they stay up, or rise, semi-equip bookings should follow.
