In 1987, after having built up a decent grub stake (actually at the time, it felt, and indeed WAS, a fortune), I watched it all disappear in two days. Ugly experience. Not only was it a nasty personal experience, but it required the passage of many many moons before we could raise any capital at all for ANY junior enterprise, so the impact on junior tech companies (which remain my favourite place to play) was devastating.
