Metalline Mining Company Announces New Drilling Results

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho, March 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Metalline Mining Company (Amex: MMG - News) announces new results from its exploration drilling at Sierra Mojada, Mexico.
Analytical results from diamond drill core samples from Sierra Mojada were recently received by Metalline Mining Company from ALS Chemex Laboratory, Vancouver, Canada. Hole D1071124, drilled to the south at a 75 degree angle upward from drill base E5 in the Encantada mine, intersected 6 meters averaging 440 grams silver per tonne, 0.17% copper, 11.8% zinc, and 3.0% lead. The interval is located in the silver rich polymetallic manto in limestone just below the San Marcos conglomerate. The mineralized interval is believed to have a true thickness of about 5 meters.
This stratigraphic interval is historically known as the "contact ore bodies" and has been productive for high grade silver-bearing ores, such as the San Jose and Veta Rica mines. To the best of our knowledge there has been no previous mining in the area of this intercept. Previous drill holes in this area were drilled with reverse circulation methods to evaluate the deeper oxide zinc potential. The results from these holes are unreliable due to less than acceptable sample recovery percentages, but suggest the presence of a larger, high-grade mineralized body in the area. The depth from the surface to the top of the zone detected in the core hole is about 75 meters.
An offset hole is currently being drilled to confirm the results of hole D1071124 and Metalline intends to further test this area and other targets by drilling from the surface and underground in the 2008 polymetallic manto drill program.
