I know most of the people on this thread disagree with me but I find Don Imus behavior in this instance extremely upsetting

I think any disagreement with you stems from your isolation of the Imus comments from what goes on in the larger media, entertainment and political scene.

Personally, I find it, let's say unseemly, to be extremely upset over the Imus comments and not to be at least equally repulsed by similarly racist or outrageous statements from other high profiled individuals, whether they be "activists", artists, athletes, politicians or alleged journalists.

Imus was a fool to say what he did. But you can be sure he talks that way all the time, which is why it was so easy for
those words to trip off his lips. Biden's stupid comments about Obama fall into the same category.

The interesting part of all this is the fact that the Black *activists* (read Sharpton/Jackson and their ilk) have turned on ultra liberals who are unused to being called on the carpet for their outrageous remarks. They're used to passes not being pummelled...Hence the whining, gnashing of teeth, etc.
