Remember when Kerry said he was for a particular bill before he was against it? The braying yahoos on the Right took that one little statement out of context and claimed it meant, well, I never was really sure. But it was supposed to be bad. However, if you read his statement in context, it was pretty clear he meant he voted for the bill when offsetting spending cuts and taxes were in it and voted against it when the Republicans stripped those provisions out. Because in those days it was anti-American to even think about actually paying for spending increases instead of putting it on the credit card.
