Sewer rats are economically illiterate, and hopeless on history. Gas SHORTAGES killed the Carter administration, not the price level. The "windfall profits" tax of the socialists in Congress MANUFACTURED energy "shortages", and the people fell over on the socialists like a brick wall in 1980. Reagan floated the oil price-and stopped robbing the producers-and the "energy crises" turned into an "oil glut". The only way to deal with a national debt is to grow out of it. "Balancing the budget" is, and always has been, a recipe for a Gephardt Depression (see also: "Rubin depression"-i.e., a depression where the socialists "win 40 House seats".)...
