I totally agree. With the communications ability we now have and the ability to move commerce, we do not need horse and buggy day laws to define the rules of competition. If Netscape wants to compete, let them build a better mousetrap. I am sure that if someone came up with a better operating system than MSFT and it was cheaper, MSFT would be out of the operating system business. But to penalize the consumer by denying the consumer the best comprehensive system is stupid. If the computer world ever gets to the point where all software and hardware is truly compatible then maybe it would make sense to separate out the components. Of course the only way to make things fit together is by the adoption of standards. And according to the DOJ, standards equals collusion. So go fig. David.
