True, if you are talking about engineers. Product engineers are up the creek as far as jobs go right now. But generic IT workers can find jobs everywhere. You wouldn't believe it, but sometimes the projects I put together for the most mundane companies are the most exciting, because you get to start from scratch. Some of these guys are in the stone ages, so when you bring them into the 21st century, you become like a Wizard to them. They can see the value in 1 year's payback. It's really fun. Sometimes my more sophisticated clients are much harder to please. They have preconcieved notions about what technology to use. They aren't open to suggestions, because they have people who think they are knowitalls. You get the picture. All I'm saying is that you can't categorically say Cisco employees have no where to go. I'd say that not only do many people (who are bright) have plenty of places to go, it stands to reason that if you have Cisco on your resume, you might have that much more opportunities waiting for you outside the company. I know as a consultant, Cisco IT folks are many times in high demand because they've worked on lots of cutting edge stuff. So they would find places to go, I'm sure.
