Re: "You cannot not not see that not allowing gays to marry is EXACTLY THE SAME as segregation, so you do not see the issue clearly."
I don't think I've said anywhere that segregation isn't the same as keeping marriage only between a man and a woman.
So one wonders where you come up with such accusations and conclusions, if not from pure imagination resulting from some highly prejudiced notion of what you believe certain others must think.
It so happens that the idea of gays being allowed to legally marry doesn't bother me a bit. I'd welcome it.
You seem to have a serious problem with accusing folks of believing things they simply haven't indicated they believe at all (certainly true in this case).
And what's up with the fact that earlier you spurred my question by saying "What I support about Obama on this issue is that even though his personal view is that marriage is between a man and wife, he has a wide open mind on this issue unlike his predecessor."
But now, finally, you effectively reverse course and say Obama DOES believe gays should be allowed to marry, but lies about it because the ignorant folks force him to in order to get elected (one could say a lot about that notion, but I won't bother here).
Heck, had you said that in the first place, or anywhere in the middle, I could have just cut to the chase and noted that lacking any evidence what-so-ever that long-time regular church goer Obama really has lied on this issue, it seems to me you've just confirmed what I noted above in relation to your comments about what you wrongly claimed I believe, i.e. again, you seem to have a serious problem with accusing folks of believing things they simply haven't indicated they believe at all (certainly true in this case, again). Since you like Obama, your prejudiced imagination tells you to assume he believes what you think he ought to, even though you know he's said the opposite. When one believes whatever he fancies to believe of others, rather than hear them and take their words for what they are, there simply is no basis for logic to survive through a conversation.
You are a pretty amazing cat. It's a bit of an Alice in Wonderland world talking to you.
