Israel was created by UN on a piece of land on which other people were living nearly a millenium. That is the crux of the Palestinian complaint but also the crux of the Israeli defense. The Jews claim they lived there long ago but were forced out. Israel was never anti-palestinians so creating millions of refugees by forcing them out of their houses and replacing them with immigrants from Russia is not anti-palestinian ? still today invading more land, occupying more territory is not anti-palestinian ? waging war against people who fight with stones, hand-guns and their lives with F-16s, apache helicopters and tanks is not anti-palestinian ? denying palestinians a state when israel asserts that right every single day is not anti-palestinian ? An argument can be made that the Israelis are simply manifesting their manifest destiny like we did with the western US. An argument that does not sit well with the Palestinians. What do you see as a solution that both sides can endorse? ted
