I'm neither happy nor sad. Microsoft ship dates don't mean anything and they never have. They announce bogus ship dates to use as vaporous weapons against competitors. In this case, you'll recall that XP's Luna interface was announced almost simultanously with Apple's release of MacOS X's Aqua interface. Coincidence? Hardly. An August ship date was probably just manufactured because OS X is going to start shipping with new Macintoshes in August.

More importantly, remember that a "combined code base" for MSFT's consumer and business OSes has been about a year away for many years now. Its ship date HAS to slip, or it would cease to be a year away.
