"AOL is the attacker." In what way? Microsoft tried to emulate AOL with MSN and has failed? AOL gave us IM and bought ICQ. Microsoft is playing the old catch up game (ie. attacking). The one thing that Microsoft does well is take a software idea and continually make it better till it's best in class. The one thing AOL does well is give people what they want. Who will win? Don't know. Maybe both.
